JIRA Plugin: Issue Orderer
Description
This plugin allows you to order JIRA issues directly from the issue browser. The plugin provides indeed different tools
to order easily issues from within the browser, according to a numerical value (which represents only the order of an
issue relative to another). This plugin can sort issues that have not the same type, the only condition for issues to be
sorted is to belong to the same project.
How to use the plugin
First, choose a project that has issues that you want to order. You can also create your new project then add a few facticious issues, just to understand how the plugin work. Then go under the navigator for tickets, you should see this: NOTE: Your browser must be configured and have a column representing the plugin.
For now, no ticket is ordered: start by inserting an issue, i.e. give it a value so that it can be sorted. To do this,
click on the blue arrow in the row corresponding to the issue you want to sort.
It takes the value 1 000 000 (NB: the value is purely arbitrary and permits only to sort the issues from within the browser).
You can continue to add in this way different issues in the order of your choice. They will take an arbitrary value.
NOTE: You do not have to insert all issues.
Once done, you can see the results by sorting the issues: this requires clicking on the tab at the top of the column corresponding to the plugin.

The most direct way to rearrange the issues is to use the green framed arrows: the increment arrow allows you to
increase the position of an issue from one boxes to the top. It then swap its value with that of the end just above.
Similarly, the decrement arrow lets down after a box down. Note that if you click on the decrement arrow and that your
issue is already in last place, you will put then the value 0 to the issue and it will therefore no longer be part of
the ordered issues.
The red arrows can move directly an issue into first or last position. The general order of the different issue
affected by this operation is maintained.
Finally the blue frame can move directly after a number of cases: to do so, enter a number in the box provided
for that purpose (preceded by minus sign if you want to move the issue down) and then click the button 
Installation
First, you must include the plugin in Jira. To do this, copy it into the directory "atlassian-jira/WEB-INF/lib" located in the installation directory of Jira.
You'll have to restart Jira, so that it could load the plugin. Once this done, go to Administration->System->Plugins
You can check here that the plugin has been successfully loaded: its name appears in the left column and the module in green (there has been no error when loading the plugin).
In case of the plugin would not been activated, activate it.
Now you have to add the custom field before using it.
Go to Administration->Issue Fields ->Custom Fields. Here you can see a list of the added custom fields.
On the next page, check the box corresponding to the plugin (named 'Ordonancement des taches') and then click Next.
In the new page that appears, enter a name for your custom field in order to identify it easily later.
Choose applicable context : you can leave 'any issue type' or select the desired types.
Leave 'Global context' to apply to all projects in JIRA (best way to do) or select the project you want the field to apply.
Confirm.
Go now to the issue navigator page and choose a project that will use the custom field ().
Click on Configure your Issue Navigator, then on Add New Column : choose the recently added custom field, then click on Add.
The plugin is now ready to use.

Release Summary: improvements & bug fix
This new version provide a new way to index the order of the tickets (number associate with the issue). This allow to fix a problem that helped having more than a hundred of ordered tickets (too bad !).
Now the higher value start at 1000000 and each added ticket is "minus one" (instead of divided by two).
If you have an existing project using the feature, you can "reindex" it using the following url : http://[your jira adresse]:[your jira port]/plugins/servlet/faIssueOrderer?&customFieldName=[name of the order custom field]&action=reindex&projectKey=[the 3 letter name of your project]
Some users had troubles with contextpath. This is fixed. The size of the numbers has also been changed to display better.
Coming next:
We are using this version for now a few month on our projects and it works just fine :). Still, the display time is a little too long, so next release will focus on improving the sort algorithme which is just awfull right now !)
